This is an annual signature initiative developed by the National Arts & Letters Commission of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. to promote and highlight the literary talents of authors within the sisterhood.

Please join us Saturday, March 5, 2022, for our free virtual event, as we host "Reclaiming our Cultural Heritage," featuring eight (8) amazing local and national authors. This event, which is open and free to the public.

Entertainment will include The Excelsior Band, a five-member marching brass band that has marched and performed along the Gulf Coast for more than 100 years. Also, nationally recognized ballet dancer, Victoria Blakely will pay homage to the ancestors and descendants of the Clotilda and Africatown community through a dance performance she choreographed, especially for DAOT. Blakely recently made history as the first African American Lead at the Mobile Ballet. She starred as Princess Tiana from the Princess and the Frog. Additionally, Cameron Robinson, who performed for former First Lady Michelle Obama during National Signing Day, will sing and play a special musical selection on the piano at this event.
